10 11 OUR PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY At Stanley/Stella, sustainability is not a buzzword, it’s a thread that runs through everything we do. Every day we make deliberate, conscious decisions about the materials we use, who we work with, and how we work. While we know there is no magic formula for achieving sustainability, we hope to keep innovating and inspiring others so that a greener, more ethical fashion industry becomes a reality. WE ONLY USE 100% ORGANIC COTTON, AS WELL AS OTHER SUSTAINABLE OR RECYCLED MATERIALS OUR SUPPLY CHAIN IS MONITORED AND CERTIFIED BY SOME OF THE WORLD’S LEADING BODIES THE WORKING CONDITIONS AND LIVELIHOODS OF THE WORKERS IN OUR FACTORIES ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO US WE ARE COMPLETELY TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHO WE WORK WITH AND MONITOR CONDITIONS DAILY WE ARE WORKING HARD TO REDUCE OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT WE KEEP PUSHING FOR NEW SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES AT OUR HQ IN BELGIUM WANT TO KNOW MORE? Organic cotton is grown with no chemical insecticides, fertilisers or pesticides, ensuring a safer environ- ment for farmers and their families. Our certifications help show our commitment to respecting the planet and its people, every step of the way. We only work with factories who share our vision for fair work and pay, and where workers receive benefits and bonuses beyond the legal minimum. As a member of FairWear Foundation (FWF), we also publish an annual report detailing the monitoring activities that have taken place at each factory in the previous year. We collect data to help us understand and reduce the carbon footprint of our garments, and only work with factories with water treatment plants. We recently launched an initiative to co-fund electric bikes for our HQ staff, and we have moved to a new, more sustainable and more energy-efficient office.
